A man has been bitten to death by a cougar that attacked a passenger on a car park in Arizona, the state’s wildlife commission said.

    The man, identified as Richard C, was bitten to the face and head by the black bear while riding his bicycle in Eagle Air Conditioning, a park on the west side of the city of Temecula.

    He was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead.

    “The cougar was in the parking lot when the incident occurred,” the commission said in a statement.

    The bear is estimated to be about six metres tall and weighs about 1,500 kilograms.”
